SFC Showcases PACK Project at European Innovation on Detection and Security Event
On June 17 2026, SFC proudly presented the PACK project and demonstrated its initial component LOCKER at the event of European Innovation on Detection and Security from Horizon Research and Innovation Projects, held at the Joint Research Centre in Geel, Belgium. The event was organised by the European Commission through DG HOME’s Community of European Research & Innovation for Security (CERIS) and JRC’s Border Security Lab (BSL).
The event served as a premier platform to demonstrate and showcase EU-funded, cutting-edge prototypes (Technology Readiness Levels 6 to 8) in a relevant environment, focusing on advanced detection capabilities for customs, border, and law enforcement authorities. SFC introduced the full concept of the 36-month-long PACK project, summarizing its four main operational components: LOCKER, PROWLER, HOWLER, and HUNTER. A major focal point was the practical demonstration of the NaBi device — the foundational LOCKER component of the PACK system, developed by General Mechatronics.
Following the demonstration, participants were invited to an interactive Q&A session where they explored the project’s timeline, upcoming milestones, and future development processes.
